Refugees and asylum seekers

During a long period Sweden has been transforming. Before the Iraq war Sweden received large numbers of Bosnian refugees. Other groups were coming from the conflict zones of East Africa seeking permanent residency. International EU financed research projects have been carried out at our department as an expression of joint efforts of ethnologists and community organisations. The basic idea is to support the interests of long-term immigrants and avoid the risk of discrimination in employment and housing.
