Annie Linderson
Research Profile
In January 2008 I attended the research programme in Ethnology. My research, with the working titel TRANSNATIONAL TRACKS - PRACTICES OF TRANSNATIONALITY ON SWEDISH COSTA DEL SOL focuses on Swedish citizens living permanently by the southern coast in Spain. I analyze expressions and practices of transnationality from a voluntary exile position as a lifestyle migrant. I study perceptions and making of a transnational everyday life through interviews and participant experience. Fieldwork was conducted during spring 2009 and additional fieldwork is planned for the fall of 2010. Key concepts in the study are so far: place, mobility, diasporic community, Swedishness, Spanishness, and translocational positionality.
I am a member of the following research-networks:
Research-network of Transnationalism and Diaspora at CEIFO, Stockholm University
Lifestyle Migration Hub, which is an international network for researchers studying lifestyle migration and mobility.
International Migration and Ethnic Relations Forum (IMER) at the Department of Sociology, Uppsala University
