Large audience at Author Talk
2019-11-11
Around 180 persons attended the Author Talk with Maria Ripenberg, jointly hosted by Forum for Africa Studies and Upsala Nya Tidning. Ripenberg narrated about blank spots of Swedish history, namely the largely unknown Swedish history of transatlantic slave trade and colonialism, themes that she develops in the book Historiens vita fläckar: Om rasismens rötter i Sverige. She also told how she based her book on works of several researchers, whose publications remain unknown to the broader public. Sten Hagberg acted as chair and discussant.
