Cultural Anthropology celebrates 60 Years at Uppsala University


After the Ethnologists' successful 75th anniversary, it is now time for the department's other discipline to celebrate: Anthropology turns 60! 

In addition to a packed anniversary day at the Humanities Theatre on October 20, there will be a full week of events between October 16-23.

Monday - Tuseday, October  16 - 17 Workshop (online): Towards an Anthropology of Capture with Judith Scheele (École des hautes études en sciences sociales) and Alberto Corsín Jiménez (Spanish National Research Council). 

Wednesday, October 18 Symposium: Engaging Vulnerability and Cultural Anthropology: 10 Years of Thematic Cooperation

Thursday October 19 Webinar: Past Legacies, Contemporary Challenges, Ways Forward: A Webinar on 60 Years of Ethnographic and Collaborative Transformations of Uppsala Cultural Anthropology and African Studies

Friday October 20 Anniversary Day at Humansiska teatern with a roundtable on Uppsala Anthropology and Key notes by Judith Scheele, Directrice d’études, EHESS, Marseille and Alberto Corsín Jiménez, Reader at the Department of Anthropology, Spanish National Research Council, Madrid.

Monday October 23 Symposium: Groundwater Commons? Transboundary Challenges and Opportunities in the Anthropocene
